Sarasota Green Group Launches EcoSafe Developed Microencapsulated Insect Repellent

EcoSafe Natural Products has worked closely with essential oil based pesticides for decades, commercializing synergistic blends for many of the first-to-market natural pesticides in the early 2000s.

Formulation chemists in the natural product industry understand that although many essential oils are fantastic knockdown pesticides, they tend to have poor repellent activity, as most formulations volatilize/evaporate quickly. In this newly developed formula, microencapsulation of the oils slows the release of any volatile organic compounds, creating never-before-seen long-term repellency.

Microencapsulation is a process that coats active ingredients with tiny particles, creating microscopic capsules. At EcoSafe, we are familiar with various techniques for producing encapsulated powders or liquids, including spray drying, solvent evaporation and coacervation. Once formulated our laser particle size analyzers can measure the particle sizes of solids, liquids and spray droplets.
