Tablets

Tablet formulations are similar to water-dispersible granules. They are small, easily handled, easily measured dosage form that must be mixed with water to be applied. Once in water, the tablets break apart into fine particles similar to wettable powders. The percentage of active ingredient in the product can be high, sometimes as much as 95 percent by weight. The formulations are produced by compaction in a tablet press.

Typical formulation composition comprises of:

  • active ingredient
  • binder
  • disintegrant
  • dispersant
  • anti-capping agent
  • lubricant

Tablets share many of the same advantages and disadvantages of Water-dispersible granules.
